I have been getting the agent paused message, then it connects to the server and downloads the information for a fight aids at home unit. It shows up, then goes back to agent paused even though i have selected to participate in all projects, even though I have surpassed all the minimum requirements. Does anyone know what is wrong? It has kept retrying for a very long time now.

What security software do you use? Also, please check your DEP (Data Execution Prevention) settings. There's a help section about it here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewSearch.do?searchString=DEP

Please humour me - evidently something has changed, or you wouldn't have a problem.

The download size indicates that you just got a fresh copy of the actual FAAH science app and not just the work unit which is like only 200kb or so. It would thus matter to check if something stops the ud_8401401.exe daemon process as a new application. My firewall requires it to be permitted as there is data exchange and the attempt to start up WCGrid_AutoDock.exe
----------------------------------------If you have a firewall, what brand and version? If you ran e.g. GC before, set up identical exemptions structure.

Security software, automatic updates.... just because you haven't changed anything yourself doesn't mean that everything is just as it was.
Since changes are usually applied when you reboot, this gives strength to that explanation. So, what security software do you use? It may have updated itself. |
