Re: Connecting troubles

Do you use a firewall? Set it up as described here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=connserver

If you still have problems, please tell us what firewall you use, and whether you use a proxy.

Re: Connecting troubles

Why is it most always ZA users having these issues?

80 and 443 needs to be set on outward traffic to be able to talk to 129.33.89.133 + 134

To go for the complete package also set up exception rules for BOINC.exe, BOINCmgr.exe, BOINC.scr and BOINCcmd.exe to communicate on port 31416 over IP 127.0.0.1 (localhost). It's for all the RPC internal comm.

Silly me, it's a UD agent thread. UD.exe needs to have the exclusion permission.

Re: Connecting troubles

See earlier revised post as i now realize were talking UD Agent and not BOINC.

Is your selection only the Genome Comparison project? It's finished. You'd have to expand your 'My Projects' selection to get other projects of WCG, provided minimum system requirements are met.

added: System Requirements link

Re: Connecting troubles

See Agent Pause thread. My UD agent had initial connect to grid and turned Pause. The other BOINC agents communicate fine.

Added: Looking at the hardware you just gave, you might want to migrate to BOINC... that doubles the jobs on a dual core and more than doubles the points (if important to you ;>)
