I seem to have managed to get bionic to start now but I cant get it to crunch any data since the system wants 33.516 MB (!) of disk space before starting (according to the message window in Bionic). I run vista and bionic 5.8.15. I want to run Fight Aids at home and ticked the option of using any other project if that one has no tasks. The program is installed on disk D.
I have set up my profile on the website as minimum and then changed some of the settings on the application itself. Run all the time, use not more than one GB, use less than 20% cpu and start after 5 minutes of being idle. Processor: 2 AuthenticAMD AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-52, 1.6 GHz Memory: 893.56 MB physical, 2.00 GB virtual Disk: 51.84 GB total, 19.59 GB free So what can I do to make it start? The project spec says I have enough of power to run this project. |

I think you have accidentally set your preferences wrong. Please will you post the contents of the files global_prefs.xml and global_prefs_override.xml

I'm stupid. Dense. Half awake.
I had all the information I needed, and I didn't see it. Nothing wrong with your preferences. The problem is you installed in D:\ - the root of the drive. So, when BOINC calculates how much space it is using, it adds up EVERYTHING in D:\ As you can imagine, this adds up to more than 1 GB. I'm afraid the only way to solve this is to reinstall - to D:\BOINC\ would be ideal. Sorry. |

How do you delete it? Just remove all the files. I cant use the uninsal function.

Why can't you uninstall it? Uninstalling BOINC properly from Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel is the best way.

It is not there. I tried to do that but it doesn't show up on the list.
Tried to do it manually but I am not allowed to touch most of the files and the rest seems to be recreating themselves. |
