I thought that this is the right forum to post this, as nearly everyone would see this.
----------------------------------------The WCG should have posted the above thread title sooner than this! I am out of work units at this late hour. No excuses for this. And yes, I *just* caught this announcement and made changes. Just now. |

The announcement was three days ago, with a follow up yesterday.

Hi JC,
----------------------------------------Actually it did caught me/us off-guard as the project update website: http://www.dbbm.fiocruz.br/labwim/bioinfoteam...eComparison/progress.html showed 81% with 9.9 million WU's done (tied with the WCG statistics). At a pace of about 104,000 daily average, that would have left about 20 days from last Wednesday i.e. 19 July. The scientists / project owners may have decided to shorten the program, where before they more than doubled it (original planned end about March). Anyway, it's great to have completed one more. The word is that at later date more work might be coming. The global libraries are still growing on gene sequences, which would than need comparing again. This would be like SIMAP. They do an update run every month (their jobs are 5.9mb download each and last 1 hour which hurts on dial-up, opposed to WCG's which were like 0.5mb download). Thus, don't un-tick that box yet in your profile.
