The appendix is our intestinal 'good bug' factory if that is what you referred to. Nowadays removed with great reluctance.
Before a colonoscopy, all of those bugs and crud are cleaned out, making digestion a bit erratic afterwards. Hopefully that appendix helps put the bugs back.

The trick is shaking hands with other people. This is how you usually get them back.... it's why there is a spoon in the peanut bowl at the sports bar. cool
