hi you guys, I have noticed when I finish a work unit my Device Overall Performance score goes down 1. it was at 170, and now goes for 168, i havent cahnged anything, the processors are the same, the same amount of ram, the same storage sapce allocated, and same network, I really dont understand it
I have grid Agent 3.0 [2843] [wich is the newest?] any ideas? Also I would like to suggest a bit of more scientific information about ht protein your working on, maybe the means of the colors of the atoms, the name of the aminoacids its formed by...things like that Also a Linux distribution for SMP and/or 64 bits or so could be great [I know its not easy, just saying... ] |

Hi KarlssonThe reason this happened is that when you complete a work unit and it is uploaded to the server, your profile is re-assessed and given a fresh score for the current work unit If your system is sitting idle at this point, you will get a higher profile score than if you were doing something computer intensive like playing a graphics intensive game, as it views this as less cycles available to the current Work Unit Sounds silly, I know, but thats the way it works unfortunarely However it does not seem to make a great deal of difference to your points awarded for that work unit For your scientific Info, follow these links: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1288 http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1322 http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1368 I hope this helps to answer your question Regards |

Also I would like to suggest a bit of more scientific information about ht protein your working on, maybe the means of the colors of the atoms, the name of the aminoacids its formed by...things like that Graham already answered the points question so I'll tackle this one. The colors aren't molecules, they're amino acids. The color of each represents the type of amino acid. This information can be found on ISB's project page, specifically here: http://www.systemsbiology.org/Default.aspx?pagename=humanproteome#Aminoacid In summary, here are what the colors mean:
Also a Linux distribution for SMP and/or 64 bits or so could be great [I know its not easy, just saying... ]These questions are answered in our Software FAQ http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/join_now/software_faqs.html#linux http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/join_now/software_faqs.html#multi As for a native 64 bit version of the code....well, you never know. ![]()
