Nice to see some old friends back in the forum again!
Dave VERY glad to have you back with us crunching again!!! We definitely have missed having you with us here in the forum, but understand that things still aren't a 100%. It sounds like things are getting better for you though. Keep up the good job. Oh by the way welcome back to the Midwest. May the winters be short and kind and the summers long and green. Not to hot and not to cold, but just right. Graham your post was short, but at least we know your ok still. Hope bussiness is picking up for you. Hope things are starting to get a little more settled in your neck of the woods. Nice job everyone with some great numbers and some great results. Remember Keith wants to shoot for 50,000,000 by the end of the year. So we need to keep crunching as hard and fast as we can. |

Spikey/Keith I notice there's no banner for 5,000,000 points on the team website. If you'd like to use this one, I ask only that you don't link directly to it in order to save my limited bandwidth. Paul, THANKS! I have copied this over to our website and updated the Hall of Fame banner document. Would you be interested in expanding our collection to cover 11-19 million (in million increments)? I'd love to have those for our members with over 10 million, especially since their numbers will only continue to grow. |

It's been a long time since I checked in here and I thought I would at least stop in to say hi. I see so many new names -- to all of you I haven't gotten to know -- welcome to the team. Lot's of old names too -- great to see you posting. Glad to see that you've picked up the baton, keithhenry, and are doing a great jop as team captain. Spikey -- nice jop on the team website! Now for an update on what's going on with me. As many of you oldtime MOT's know, the last year and a half have not been the best for me (actually longer if you add on the problems leading into it). I had my right leg amputated and spent 10 months in the VA (Veterans Affairs) hospital (2 in one stint and 8 the other). I was also given medication that has lead to partial paralysis of my hands while there. I am now out and, for the most part, doing okay medically. I have moved back to the Chicagoland area where I lived for 50 years before my job caused me to relocate to Raleigh, North Carolina 11 years ago (yes -- I'm an old fart -- LOL). I made this move to be closer to my four sons. I certainly did not move back for the winters ( ). With all this, I have dumped my two old systems (a Pentium 4 and an older Pentium 2). Right now, I am crunching only on a Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop with an Intel Core2 Duo T5600 processor clocked at 1.83 GHz. I'm truly amazed to see the points I am getting from a single PC and a laptop at that! But Wait! In a limited time only ... I will be addiing a Dell Dimension E520 desktop system running an Intel Core2 Duo E6420 clocking in at 2.13 GHz! I am really looking forward to seeing all that crunching power dedicated to the WCG efforts for humanity. With the problems in my hands, I probably won't be a regular poster in here, but I will be a regular lurker ( ). (David Autumns -- Note the appropriate scattering of smilies in my post -- LOL) (Graham -- I've updated my sig with all of your great graphics -- hope all is well with you) Everybody else -- It's great to be crunching along with you again!Hi Dave! It's really great to hear from you here again! I hope you get settled in well from the move. Those are always a chore. I keep telling myself that the law of averages is going to catch up with you eventually so you'll be due a couple of really good years!! |
