Hi Tom! Good to hear from you. Don't wait another 18 months to stop by again biggrin Lots has changed since you were last here unless you're a regular lurker. We'd love to hear from you regularly. Thanks for the persistent crunching too!

Spikey/Keith

I notice there's no banner for 5,000,000 points on the team website. If you'd like to use this one, I ask only that you don't link directly to it in order to save my limited bandwidth.

smile smile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 19 smile smile

It's been a long time since I checked in here and I thought I would at least stop in to say hi. I see so many new names -- to all of you I haven't gotten to know -- welcome to the team. Lot's of old names too -- great to see you posting. Glad to see that you've picked up the baton, keithhenry, and are doing a great jop as team captain. Spikey -- nice jop on the team website!

Now for an update on what's going on with me. As many of you oldtime MOT's know, the last year and a half have not been the best for me (actually longer if you add on the problems leading into it). I had my right leg amputated and spent 10 months in the VA (Veterans Affairs) hospital (2 in one stint and 8 the other). I was also given medication that has lead to partial paralysis of my hands while there. I am now out and, for the most part, doing okay medically.

I have moved back to the Chicagoland area where I lived for 50 years before my job caused me to relocate to Raleigh, North Carolina 11 years ago (yes -- I'm an old fart -- LOL). I made this move to be closer to my four sons. I certainly did not move back for the winters ( tongue ). With all this, I have dumped my two old systems (a Pentium 4 and an older Pentium 2). Right now, I am crunching only on a Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop with an Intel Core2 Duo T5600 processor clocked at 1.83 GHz. I'm truly amazed to see the points I am getting from a single PC and a laptop at that! But Wait! In a limited time only ... I will be addiing a Dell Dimension E520 desktop system running an Intel Core2 Duo E6420 clocking in at 2.13 GHz! I am really looking forward to seeing all that crunching power dedicated to the WCG efforts for humanity.

With the problems in my hands, I probably won't be a regular poster in here, but I will be a regular lurker ( biggrin ). (David Autumns -- Note the appropriate scattering of smilies in my post -- LOL) (Graham -- I've updated my sig with all of your great graphics -- hope all is well with you) Everybody else -- It's great to be crunching along with you again!

Dave.

Until someone more senior within the context of the team shows up, please permit me to welcome you back to active crunching with MOT. I'm pleased to learn that you're apparently on the mend after your protracted health problems. Keep your pecker up mate.

BTW. My own crunching power consists of 3 assorted desktop PCs totaling 8.20Mhz (CPU) and 6GB RAM, all wired through a Belkin router/modem. I also have a good mate doing his bit when he can. Not quite the kind of power that I'd like to contribute to WCG and MOT, but it serves well enough.

Re: smile smile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 19 smile smile

Hi Ady, I know you consider us a big team but you and your fellow base campers would be quite welcome to join us here - even temporarily. We have a decent shot at making 40 million points this year but I am pushing for hitting 50 million. With just 60-some of us returning results on a now typical day, that will be a reach for us (as goals should be biggrin ) of course so we'd welcome the help however much.

Hi Keith - all I can say is that all teams are considered regardless of size, one of the criteria being how welcome we would be - something which you have made very clear smile
