Make sure you have a machine in BOINC Device Profile you select to participate, that is like 24/7. Only 'reliable' machines are likely to get work that return normal jobs regularly, error free and with a short return time. Someone running a 3 day buffer in effect takes, on a FIFO basis, 3 days to send back a result i.e. small buffer size makes the chance more probable.

Got it. I have been running with a 3.5 day buffer. It ussually takes about 3 days for a downloaded WU to get crunched and returned. I have it set at 3.5 so I would always have units to crunch during site down times. What should it be set at for beta testing? Setting it at 1 or less can cause you to run out of units if their is a problem downloading new units.

Read of 16 hours proven return time at some point for some make up work, so 1 day should keep you in the loop.

Note to self: obtain an approximate indicator of the distribution rule for subscribed beta testers.
