Several days ago,I downloaded the software and have been running it well.I admire the power of the grid computing once again. In fact,I have been putting my energy into grid computing at present. The main tool I am using is the globus toolkit 4.However,the progress is advancing slowly. As a grid programmer,I really want to know how the worldcommunitygrid software works and what is the infrastructure of it.Can anyone provide me and others who have the same doubt like me some technical details of the software? Thanks a lot.

Hi Haison
----------------------------------------We keep asking but they are not telling. I've tried hard to spread the rumour it's all run from one 386 in a Broom Cupboard but no-one is buying it. I'd love to know too as it would be interesting to know what drives the Grid and all the stats like Bandwidth we use each day which could be added to the bucket load of Stats we have at the moment. Keep asking the question. Who knows one day they may let us in on the secret. I wish you well with your Grid Programming. Do you have a Humanitarian Problem to solve? If so get in touch and submit your project here http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_showcase/viewSubmitAProposal.do You've come to thje right place All the best and happy crunching Dave |

The WCG UD agent uses the United Devices Grid MP 3 system.
BOINC, obviously, is BOINC, the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing. Since BOINC is open source, we know a lot more about how the internals work. Start here to learn all the details: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki |
