Similar to e.g. Rosetta, when selecting WCG in either BOINCmgr's Projects or Tasks tab, would like to see a button added in left margin called 'Results Status' or 'Your Results' for quick access to the list on website of current work returned and outstanding.
----------------------------------------Sample overlay of Rosetta button on WCG view. ![]() Any seconders need to speak up. Edit: Inserted 'on website' for clarification

Sek, do you mean for the buttons to give available info on results outside of logging in to WCG? That would be great! And also they would still be available during updates when we cannot access My Grid? :-)
----------------------------------------If it isn't going to do that..then I wouldn't want it added. Diana ![]() |

Diana The BOINC Buttons are different for each project, and are assigned by the project. I have seen a complete range of stuff and kinds of links. One button to go to the project website is the minimum. WCG has 6 website buttons. Einstein@home has 14 website buttons.

Hmmm, maybe a bit more explaining on what they do? LOL I only crunch WCG so I am unsure on the meanings and functions of all the buttons I never seen before :-)
----------------------------------------Just wondering if they would provide access to results without being logged in to the forum? Or provide access to the the results during the WCG update times when we cannot get on My Grid? Thanks for any enlightment :-) Diana ![]() |

As far as I know those buttons are simply hyperlinks back to the worldcommunitygrid website.
----------------------------------------My suggestion would be leave as is. My reason would be if you can see everything within BOINC Manager it would inevitably bring an element of isolation into the number crunching experience. I think we should encourage as many visitors as possible to the WCG Forum and Website so that it maintains the interest in the project and what is happening here. Now if we could get everything here into teh BOINC Manager Window then that would a different kettle of fish ![]() Night Dave ![]() |

Forums and Results have been added.
You still can only view results if you are already signed in or have checked the 'keep me signed in' box. For the forums link, if you are already signed in or have checked the 'keep me signed in' box you will be able to post. However, if you are not signed in and have not checked the 'keep me signed in' box then you will arrive as a guest. In order to get the new buttons just update the project or it will automatically appear the next time your client connects to us. |
