Re: ./ consumes all #1 positions

God I'm soooo excited. I really should be in bed (work in the am) but I've been staying up each night just to see the stat's update. I completed about 6 or 7 packets in the last 4 day. total points 2631 - I look around for anythign I can do to pump it up. Though I'm running an AMD 0670 1.0 GhHz with 768 MB of Ram and 10 Gigs allocated. Maybe it's time to build another box wink

Hey that's better than me, and I'm running a Pentium M 1.7gHz with 512 (so you beat me in the RAM dept) -- I have 2509 points and a run time of 4 days as well. tongue

Re: ./ consumes all #1 positions

As a previous posting suggested, I submitted a follow-up story to Slashdot regarding our now #1 position in the hopes to generate more slashdotters joining in, though unfortunately my contributing story was 'reject' angry . Maybe if enough of us resubmitted the follow-up story - it may get re-visited and bring our numbers up even higher. thinking

Re: ./ consumes all #1 positions

smile In answer to the message above
smile How about submitting this story

crying /.ers put all other teams on the back burner, remove their motivation, take away their reason to compete, leave them depressed and miserable, increase their rate of manic depression, and supress their urge to contribute congratulatory messages.

beat up That will do for starters

That should get some headlines and bring a bunch of new members to our rescue

Joking aside "Congratulations and well done"

Maybe you can add to your story that in just the last 24 hours, the Slashdot team contributed over 5 YEARS of computing power to the project. I am sure that in a couple of weeks, your team's contribution will be even more impressive, and a follow-up story would get accepted.

Congratulations again on your team accomplishments!

I have a feeling the only ways we are going to get mentioned again are:
A. All IBM teams merge and it becomes Big Blue Selson Blue vs. Slashdot
B. Linux client gets released.
