Help on cancelling project?

I'm new to WCG so i don't know if this question has already been asked but how do i cancel work on a project? I've been folding the same HPFP2 project for close to 30 hours and i've only gotten up to 1.7%. Any help on cutting down folding time would be appreciated but personally i'd rather cancel it. Also, the work has to start over each time i restart my computer but i think that's just because i haven't reached the correct percentage needed in order to checkpoint it.

Re: Help on cancelling project?

Hello Ronny Li,
If you are running the UD client, you will have to use Task Manager to kill the wcg_rosetta process. (All our scientific programs have wcg in the title.) I assume you are not running BOINC because BOINC Manager has an option to abort a work unit.

Re: Help on cancelling project?

Every now and then, some of these projects get killer workunits. Genome Comparison seems to have the smallest at the moment, if you have a little computer that is struggling.

Once in awhile a whole series of workunits could have problems. In that case, read-only advice at the top of the forum may say something about it.

Re: Help on cancelling project?

Are you running Bionic? If so, then click on the "Project" tab and you can click on "suspend". This will stop your project.

...only for the time it is suspended. On "resume" it picks up where it left off...

An "abort" will cancel the BOINC workunit. Be cautious when using this, since credit for the workunit will be lost.
