Re: YouTube

(Rare!) Helen Keller & Anne Sullivan (1930 Newsreel Footage)

You’ve all heard about Helen Keller and her teacher Annie Sullivan.

Now, thanks to this vintage footage from the 1930s, you can see Keller in the flesh and discover how she learned to talk (then eventually became an author, lecturer, and champion of many progressive causes). It’s worth watching, particularly through the stirring finish.

I've never failed to marvel at her unconquerable human spirit and the devotion of her teacher. We can all learn a great lesson from Helen Keller. Thanks JP

Re: YouTube

Here is one, i like very much, but it might be difficult for the most of you, because it is in bavarian. In fact, if you have never been in Bavaria, don't watch it.

Tropfest NY 2008 winner, "Mankind Is No Island" by Jason van Genderen

Using images found on street signage in Sydney and New York, Jason van Genderen shot this entire movie on a cell phone! "Mankind is No Island" is a cleverly crafted visual and musical narrative, whose production budget was a whopping $57! Winner of the TropFest NY 2008 award, the world's largest short film festival, this is three and half minute experience that will leave you inspired.

Original, creative, introspective work. The title says it all.

David Gallo: Underwater astonishments

David Gallo shows jaw-dropping footage of amazing sea creatures, including a color-shifting cuttlefish, a perfectly camouflaged octopus, and a Times Square's worth of neon light displays from fish who live in the blackest depths of the ocean.!!
