Inactive process and UD

UD doesn't use the complete available ressource of my computer. The inactive process is still using almost 50% of my processor. Does someone know how to allocate the max of power to the grid agent?

Thx for help.

You need to use the throttle tool, available here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=cpuuse#230

If you have a dual core CPU, you will do better with BOINC.

Re: Inactive process and UD

Hi Oam,

you probably ran the UD/Grid.org version before which had no throttle and just took it all. WCG's version is set to default to 60% max, thus you would have seen almost 50% going to the 'Idle' process in the Task Manager panel. The WCG CPU tool is life, thus if you start it, the agent will respond almost immediately. The tool stores the required percentage into the registry permanently, so the agent always knows what load to run at - at most -.
