Re: What are you listening to

alged, you have lost so many jazz musicians as of late. From where comes your knowledge of music in general and jazz in particular?
Here you have Britta Polka by H. C. Lumbye. That was used to teach us little ones the polka at dance school blushing

You are probably familiar with NHØP - Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. Here he plays an old Danish folk tune with Kenny Drew
In the Deep Quiet of the Forest

And you know of low ethanol champagne as well. The good brands are very expensive so I'll probably go with a medium ethanol champagne to celebreate the New Year tongue

Re: What are you listening to

I thought you music lovers would find this interesting:

Jimi Hendrix worked with various Blues/R&B/Soul bands before he became famous.

Buddy and Stacy -- Shotgun (1965)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpl29xapwFU
Note: Jimi is on the back row next to the drummer.

Jimi playing his music (1968):
Jimi Hendrix -- Foxy Lady

I guess this shows that no matter who you are, you have to work for someone else before you can be the boss :D.

Hi "little mermaid" ; champagne flows have evaporated now.A big help to enter the New Year under cloudy rainy windy Paris skies!
I am fan of jazz since teenage. So i followed these artists along the years
through jazz magazines, radio programs, some concerts and numerous vinyls and cds.It is a generation time passing slowly.
One of the best source of jazz infos isOpen Jazz by Alex Dutilh-daily on France Musique.

Sure i like vm NHOP and some Nordic jazz by EST
One of the best place in Paris is La Maison Du Danemark on top of Champs-Elysées.
Fine restaurant and nice jazz concerts upthere!
Not too far there is the Lionel Hampton Jazz Club (in the Concord Lafayette Hotel)
That apart i dont appreciate much the Champs-Elysées.
Quartier Latin and Bastille are more attracting to me
Bye

Re: What are you listening to

Thank you for your information, alged.
Believe it or not, I have never been to Paris,
in fact never travelled much in France, which I would like to rectify.
You have La Maison Du Danemark - we have Jazzhouse Montmatre.
I liked jazz all my life, but I never aquired any solid knowledge like you have.

Here is Cuba Libre for you played by probably the best combination of Danish jazz musicians ever.

Re: What are you listening to

If 'Little Girl' is me
- and I seem to take it for granted that it is
and if you want to get anywhere with me
you have to learn

1. Not to drive a Ford Edsel
2. Not to let me stand waiting for you outside the movies in the freezing cold for more than an hour - and pretend you don't remember
3. Not to make me cry in that cold rain crying
