I have a older machine, a Celeron 432mhz with 256mb of ram running Windows XP Professional SP1, that for some reason the work thats being done thru the UD wcg agent are not showing up for the Genome Comparison project. So far this machine has done from what I can tell 2 work units so far, but on the results page of My Grid, It does not list this computers name and the work unit. I've ran seti@home on this old box for about 2 years before the apparent outages they are having, so I thought i would try wcg with this box. After attaching wcg to boinc, a FAH project came up, even though this machine is well below the system requirements for FAH. I detached wcg from boinc, and downloaded the wcg grid client instead, in which the only project that would come up is Genome Comparison, which is fine.
Just trying to figure out why results arent being listed, would appreciate any information or help. |

Hi TeknoWire,
----------------------------------------would you please compare the member name you are now posting under with the member name of the WCG agent (right hand top). If different, log in with the Agent member name. If not, we'll have a further quest for the answer. Actually FA@H used to download to devices with slightly lower specifications than shown in the System Requirements page. It should run fine, but longer. Sekerob

Thanks for your reply, I checked the WCG agent member name and it is the same member name I use to login to My Grid which is TeknoWire, and to the forums. And thanks for the info on FA@H, i didnt realize that it would send thru boinc clients even if the machine was below min req for the project.

TeknoWire, the Results Status page only shows BOINC work. There is no way to track work from the United Devices WCG agent.

Ah ok, I did not know that you couldn't see results from the wcg agent, I do hope someday that ability will be setup. I just attached world community grid to boinc and it downloaded a FA@H work unit perfectly, I do hope i will still receive work from wcg even with such a old box.
Much thanks |

A request was put in and acknowledged to make it obvious that the Result Status page is strictly for BOINC work. The change should show in the forthcoming website update referred to as release 16.
