Re: agent communicates with server frequently

hi peter6366,

very possibly you do have a security software issue. please read this post by Viktors in the Known Issues forum: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1883#10540

In fact the agent program - UD.exe - is just an interface. The science and control is done by 2 other programs. Add these to the exceptions and the problem is likely resolved.

A list of all the programs WCG runs for different projects is provided here:

Re: agent communicates with server frequently

I tried install and run agent in other pc without Outpost, no problem. On my pc I disabled components control in Outpost fw, but agent still want run task. It downloaded task data, try to run task then download next task data. No mesage in agent or outpost. After downloading few tasks data I can see window I sent before. Id like to use WCG agent but I dont want stop using Outpost firewall. Any solutions to "right" settings? Thx.

Sometimes a complete uninstall and boot is needed for deeply hidden security software components to get removed/de-activated. I use Sunbelt Kerio PF. Very happy, but when behind the router firewall, none at all.

Re: agent communicates with server frequently

hmmm, getting work and crashing. Run hardware tests (see Useful Utilities thread in Start Here forum) after security software problems have been eliminated. Was Outpost all there was running.... AV also can cause problems?

Have to run now.... catch u laeter.

Re: agent communicates with server frequently

I am IT technician, believe me, hw works perfectly. I was using Kerio but Outpost is better choice for me. Now I tried close fw and stop outpost service. I checked it, outpost service was disabled. I installed WCG again...still same problem. I tried new user name...but same problem. Any idea?

Re: agent communicates with server frequently

Going back to the original reply, DEP of Windows is set to run standard Woz activity or also to monitor other apps? UD.exe on start up creates a DLL UDwin_3801_2844.DLL that only exists in memory. You're not getting a warning, so exclude this for the moment.

What AV (Antivirus) is running? Any AntiSpam?

What is the hardware the problem install is running on?

If all else fails, implement plan B: The B for BOINC. Works when WCG agent does not and the migration is simple (for a IT technician).

Still exhausted from my run biggrin

DLL like this "ud_12980725.dll" I have in folder where is WCG installed. I think it crashes when try to run exe of each task. I dont use active spyware, AV is NOD32 but this AV I have on PC that WCG working too. HW seems to be ok. I tried run WCG on vmware on same PC I have problem and it works. I will try BOINC.
