Thanks for your reply. I do have that stuff in my profile and I have definitely attached to worldgird. I think I might just go back to UD and be done with it.

I have uninstalled BOINC because I can't get it to download any work at all. Here is one of the messages I get..
Message from server: Invalid or missing account key.Visit website to get an account key.

I have an account key but when I installed BOINC there wasn't any screen that asked me to add the key...? It just refuses to download any work but I had attached it to the worldgrid.

Hi Kate,

- if you chose to give it another try - Propose you re-download the specially packaged and WCG skinned BOINC version for single user:

A. Go to Windows File Explorer and delete the C:\Program Files\BOINC directory and content.

B. Download and run http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/wcg_boinc_5.8.15_windows_intelx86.exe

This should only ask for Member name and Password. The same name as under which you registered at WCG and where you saw the BOINC account Key (presume it to be Haapi).


As to the error: If it repeats on re installation, go to the BOINC message tab and selects the records top-down hit the left margin copy button and paste them in a post here. We might see why.

1. Also would you please visit the WCG My Grid > My Projects and select All, then Save.

2. Go to My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profiles > BOINC Default and select Maximum Impact radio box and save (for testing if it runs at all). http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/v...iguration.do?name=Default
3. Go to BOINC, Project Tab, Select WCG and hit Update.

That should restore defaults.

What is the CPU and RAM size like. Does it meet minimum System Requirements ? (The Message Tab log includes basic hardware/operating system information at the beginning.)

Hi again. It would appear that it started to do something then changed its mind and said I need a key again I have posted the txt as asked in the hope that someone can tell what I am doing wrong. I notice that I didn't get that screen asking me to login with my user name or password. Any ideas what to do next?
