Hello,
----------------------------------------I was just browsing thru the boinc and "My Grid" statistics pages and I noticed a difference: - My Grid Device statistcis shows 3 BOINC devices, which gathered 7920, 22300 and 7870 points (total of 38,090). I have 3 results "pending validation". - BOINC statistics claims I have 5605.07 "Work done". How does this relate? ![]()

Divide WCG points by 7 to obtain Boinc points.

Hi E. Frijters,
----------------------------------------You hit on a MFAQ (most frequently asked question). It's covered in Help What's earned in BOINC credits, a global system of scoring, is converted to WCG points. As WCG points existed before BOINC was adopted here, there was a differential. At time of implementing BOINC on Linux, the differential was found to be factor 7, which has remained forever even after it was ported to Windows too. Let old dogs sleep, but BOINCers have the edge over UD agent even on single core machines (is this a hint to drop the UD potatoe), also because the resource minimum requirements for WCG projects run on BOINC are lower. Simply less overhead and no continuous disk i/o encryption, makes it quicker / loose less seconds and less obtrusive. way too much info for a Thursday morning. ![]()
