confused How can I add a second PC's (or more) results to my own account?

Hello.
I have a second PC sitting in a closet that has not been put into use for a while. I was wondering how I could put it online running the WCG software (alongside my current PC that is running the WCG software) and have it also contribute to my account's score. In other words, I want to run the WCG software on multiple PCs that I own, but have all their scores pooled into my one account.
Possible?

Thank you in advance for any advice of comments.

Paul

cool Re: How can I add a second PC's (or more) results to my own account?

Simple. While installing the World Community Grid Agent, check the box that says 'Previous Member' (or something like that) then sign in using your login and password. The new device is installed in your list of devices and all points are assigned to you. Just be sure that any computer hooked onto the Internet has security programs, as is mentioned here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1150#5402

Hi,

I've managed to install 4 devices so far without any problem and I'am able to manage them as well. blushing

But I was wondering about the fact that some guys have installed 100+ devices..... shock shock how the heck did they do that and are still able to manage/controll the machines???

One at a time, over several days. And sometimes you can do it in batches with the proper management setup. Once it's in, the grid software is pretty much a set-and-forget affair. I don't have 100+, but that's how it worked with 31+. I'd imagine they did it the same way I did. Had I wanted to, I could have rolled it out across 30 machines in about a half hour. It's easiest when you are dealing with rack-mounted machines in a server room, of course, as opposed to standalone workstations scattered across floors and buildings.

As others have indicated, you just download it on each machine and when it goes to register, then you click the box that you are a current member and enter your userID and Password. It automatically puts it with your other computer(s). Then you watch what they are doing by logging in and looking at your "Device Manager">"Device Statistics".

By looking there you can keep up with what each of the computers is doing (albeit 24 hours old at some points since these stats are only run once a day). But in any case it works well and if you just pull up the devices stats once a day and tell if somone has gone missing. I have a dozen or so and this mechanasm works well for me. smile
