Re: : Re: JP´s Books Thread

Just finished reading 'The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell.

This is a fine tale with a difference as it is set in Bay of Nagasaki in the dying days of the 18th Century with its mixture of Japanese, English and Dutch trading residents; highly recommended.

Just finished reading Solar by Ian McEwan.

A good modern satire featuring scientists coming to blows with different answers to the problems of Global Warming.

Very good if you like history. Any fan of Stephen Ambrose books would like this.
