Re: Quote of the Day

Makeup is scary. When I do it myself, it's just mascara, and sometimes I forget even to do that.

Re: Quote of the Day

The work an unknown good man has done is like a vein of water flowing hidden underground, secretly making the ground green.

Re: Quote of the Day

"The Harvard Law states: Under controlled conditions of light, temperature, humidity, and nutrition, the organism will do as it darn well pleases."

-- Larry Wall

...and for good measure:

"I believe, if we don’t fix the health care system, that lack of access will be a bigger cancer killer than tobacco. The ultimate control of cancer is as much a public policy issue as it is a medical and scientific issue."
JOHN R. SEFFRIN, of the American Cancer Society, which plans to devote its entire advertising budget this year to the consequences of inadequate health coverage.

Treat the other man's faith gently; it is all he has to believe with.
His mind was created for his own thoughts, not yours or mine.

My greatest fear is saying I love you. It's something that I've got to work out there.

Re: Quote of the Day

It doesn't matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn't matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years - we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on. --
Sharon Salzberg
