Effect of 100% CPU utilization?

I have the WCG agent installed on 3 machines, I have noticed in my task manager that CPU utilization is at a constant 100%, I leave my computers up for weeks at a time, is this something I should worry about? I don't want to toast anything crying

Re: Effect of 100% CPU utilization?

There have been a number of threads in the forum discussing overheating and the effects of dust. Rather than trying to digest all of the posts on these topics here, I would recommend that you use the forum search facility to search on "overheating" and then again later on "dust".

Re: Effect of 100% CPU utilization?

smile Hi madlinux768

I am 6+ weeks into the project and I have had my box running 24/7 with CPU at around 98% to 100% of its usage and I have not had a hint of a problem

I am sure it doesn’t hurt to err on the side of caution, although I am sure if there were any horror stories of CPUs dying, boxes shutting down, etc, etc, it would be posted all over the forum, you know how bad news travels

Not a bad idea to use a compressed air canister to blow the dust from your power supply fan and your cpu fan occasionally

smile Otherwise, keep on crunching

Regards
