Hi E.Frijters,
----------------------------------------You stumbled on the most frequently discussed, yet most innocent 'warning' messages of all (99,9% of the times). Please see link in the shortest thread on the matter. HPF2 jobs take a programmed 6.5 hours on a reference machine, so you wont find long lists of finished jobs. Like it says, 'if this happens repeatedly....." cheers http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12840 PS, you posted at 7:18 when the line is opened at 07:00AM, so the scheduler will have uploaded anything ready. The logs should tell if your machine ran overnight. The 'restart' is at a checkpoint. Also when posting errors, please post 5 or 10 lines from just before the error. It tells us often what the machine was doing just before.

Thanks for the fast reply!
----------------------------------------I read the story behind the given link... I'm not quite sure if I understand the real reason behind this error (Why should Boinc discard a complete WU when there's a time difference between client and the internet?). I'll look into it... Thanks... ps: I expanded the message list with the previous messages

There is an option to run or suspend work in a certain time frame (there should though have been a log entry for that). The jobs were not discarded but 'restarting' How much time have they clocked in the Tasks tab and how much %. Calculate back to 6:37 and see if current or finishing time less run time goes back to 6:37 or earlier. That tells if a restart was done at Zero% or at a checkpoint saving position of the work unit.

Hi E. Frijters,
Welcome to the maddening world of BOINC error/status messages. Most likely, a suspended job was started from the check point file (work file) rather than from memory so only a few minutes were lost, but you have to look over all the messages and figure things out and check current progress (which is not logged!) to figure out just what that status message means. I always ignore it, since on my computer it always means 'Resuming work from last saved check point at nn%'. Which is not one of the status messages. Lawrence |

This morning, at one computer, I had the same thing... I checked the WU's in question and they "restarted" at 75% and 85%...
----------------------------------------It's a shame the remaining data was lost because my profile says it can't upload at that time... I think that has nothing to do with crunching whatsoever. So, it's a minor bug, but I can live with that.

If you follow the "Checkpoint Saving" post of the "Start Here" forum, you find instruction on how to log checkpoints in the message tab. That function is available from the recommended version 5.8.16 for BOINC. If you than choose the right moment to close the agent - NOT the power switch method - few minutes need loosing. If you hibernate properly, none at all.

This problem only occurs because I altered the "internet connection window" in my profile. I do not want BOINC to connect the proxy at night. Sometimes there's a problem with password verification and when BOINC retries to connect it invalidates my account here... So next morning I can't login and that's a pita.
