I was very sad to find that the Oxford University Cancer project was going a few days ago , but relieved to find that similar work was available through WCG, so dutifully downloaded the agent onto a few of my machines.
I set them to a new profile, with the cancer project being the only one active, and using the UD agent.
Each of them had already started work on a work unit for Muscular Dystrophy, which was fine, so I left them to get on with that.
The first machine to complete a work unit has now submitted its results, but after getting 742 points for that 19hour run, every time I try to get it to resume work, it just says: -
"Agent paused, see www.wcgrid.org/cause.html"
So, of course, I dutifully visit that page and take the remedial action mentioned, which in my case doesn't involve proxies, but could be the DEP thing, so I updated the system settings for DEP and added in the exclusion for UD.exe in the WCG install directory and rebooted. Same thing: -
"Receiving 3833 of 3833 bytes from the server"
Then "Agent paused" again.
I'd like to get this work-shy agent back to the grid-stone (sic) - anyone got any constructive advice about how - before I go BOINC?
