can anyone tell me why I am unable to upload completed work or download new work? Is this a common error that has a simnple fix? running boinc 5.8. My interent connection is constant (cable interenet). It was working fine until 3 days ago.

This is usually a firewall issue, but to help us rule out other possibilities, please will you paste the relevant messages from the messages tab in advanced view?

This maybe more widespead than it appears.
----------------------------------------I'm seeing 50-80 guys at XS with the same problem. I am not seeing the issue myself but my machines are on win2K3 server. Whether that is a factor or not I don't know. The one thing I have seen is that every now and then the machines aren't uploading with out a manual update being used. That's minor as I'm with the machines a great deal of the time but may affect others. I'm also using everything from 5.4.11( seems the best of them to me) to 5.8.15 to 5.8. Bad timing. We just added a bunch of new members for a big push in May.   |

Can you get at least one of them to post their messages logs here in our forums. The web servers are not under any strain and there is a lot of work being returned (we will hit a new all time high on BOINC and overall today) - we need more information to work on to figure out what is going on.

Can you get at least one of them to post their messages logs here in our forums. The web servers are not under any strain and there is a lot of work being returned (we will hit a new all time high on BOINC and overall today) - we need more information to work on to figure out what is going on. thanks, Kevin I think the issue is solved at least as far as we are concerned. New guys, not familar with the program,etc. We'll whip them into shape as fast as possible!  |

Please will you check the file permissions on the C:\BOINC\ directory? If necessary, grant Full Control to the user that you are using to run BOINC.
