Probably caused by the CPDN server problems.

Which version of BOINC are you running?

5.8.x series sometimes act flaky during network problems, whether on your end or a project's end. The already reported message means that result was reported previously so you can't report it again. The resent lost result means that your PC was assigned a task but didn't finish the download the first try, so it is being downloaded again.

I have had both of those messages in the past when my connection was performing poorly.

Like BobCat13 indicates, both lines are innocent. From the quoted:
Line 1:Verify in the Result Status pages. Should show as Valid or Pending Validation (you found it already).
Line 2: Retry from a bombed download transmission
Line 3: Succeeded the download. The Work Unit should be showing in the BOINC Tasks Tab and being in progress or ready to Process (it's already processing per your note).

With the 5.8.x BOINC versions, your uploads and downloads are in 'on the fly' compression. That's why you see the 'gz' extension which I've highlighted above.

There are some odd communication problems still with 5.8.16. You don't say which version you run, but best to upgrade to minimize the chance of problems in earlier versions.

OS, Agent, Version, Science project, CPU and Ram Size. Of course the error log helps to analyse the problem in the first instance. Also there is a BOINC FAQ link in my sig. Bookmark it, as it has a lot of good stuff.
