Re: The Edwardians are STILL Arriving!

Just been to the shop and bought all sorts of fattening goodies to munch our way through tomorrow as we sit, being all miserable, in the unrelenting rain crying We are sitting up in the roof on Court No.1 so you won't even be able to see us and wave! sad Suppose we should really feel sorry for the ones sleeping out all night on the pavement - they'll be a bit wet I guess devilish

What a coincidence. I was about an hour from you heading north on I-95 just 9 days ago.

And happy 3d John.

Well, that would put you between portsmouth NH and portland ME. What were you doing in our neck of the woods. biggrin

Re: The Edwardians are STILL Arriving!

Does any body remember a program that could make UD devices think you had multiple machines, so you could download more than one unit at a time, so you could finish a unit then start another with out being connected to the web. Once all your units were completed, you would just re connect, up load the results then download a bunch more units.

I have a laptop that doesn't stay on line alot.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Roger

Re: The Edwardians are STILL Arriving!

Roger, I think your looking for UD Monitor - however wouldn't it just be easier to use BOINC and also benefit from more points as well?

I'm using BOINC without any problems. Has a couple of advantages in comparison with UD agent:
1. Supports multiple cores / UD Agent only one
2. You can manage the amount of workload you can download, i.e. enough work for two days. / UD Agent only has one workunit.
3. You can support more than one good cause (project), if you would like to do so, with the same software.

Personally I only support WCG, but I do have dual cores. Boinc lets me use my machine to the max, without all kinds of difficult technical tricks.
Take a look at: BOINC

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Is there a multiple downlown loader or organizer/manager for this like back at UD, it was a third party device. It auto uploaded/downloaded.

THanks

Roger

if You have down loaded Boinc this will give you a cache of items to crunch

As I posted a couple of days ago ^^^^ Boinc gives you a cache of several WU to crunch They will upload when you go on line Just like the
system back at UD
To install Boinc go to home page and Boinc is the last application
on the list hope this helps
Details as etienne states above
