Hi, newbie here.
How can i download an installer for an offline W98 machine to an online Wxp machine? Does CPUmax work on W98? How can i arrange to get only low spec WUs for the low spec (P500/160MB) W98 Mc and high spec WUs for the high spec Wxp Mc? |

Look at My Grid - Device Manager - Device Profiles. You can create or modify profiles which specify the projects. Look over the requirements at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=minimumreq and create different profiles for different machines.
How can i download an installer for an offline W98 machine to an online Wxp machine? I assume you want to download the WorldCommunityGridAgent.exe file that installs the UD client. Just choose Save File. Then you should be able to copy it to your W98 machine. How is your W98 machine linked to the Internet? |

Possibly Mr. Toad is speaking of running UD agent in a sneakernet mode on an off-line W98. Someone else just opened a thread today on the same subject.

Thanks for the quick replies, sorry about the delay in my reply.
I found i didn't need to install the WCG agent, all i needed to do was use ud_mon+ a cache of WUs and once i had got the settings set all appeared to work ok, touch wood. |

'Settings Set' must be telling it to operate with the WCG agent? I trust you see right hand bottom of the start bar in the system tray a WCG logo and not a UD blue pill.... then you're in trouble :? (Cant remember if W98 had a start bar & system tray to be honest... comes with age :O)
