Error switching to module graphics

Complete message:

Error switching to module graphics
Error number: 364
MSG: Object was unloaded

Win2000 Pro on an old PII, 450 MHz machine. Windows Agent version 3.0 (2844).

(I'm a former UD grid member, and installed the Genome Comparison project on 5 machines last night.)

Other 4 machines are running XPPro and no problems at all. How to fix this error message on the Win2000 machine?

thanks

Re: Error switching to module graphics

The only other time this error was reported, the techs took it to email, so we don't have a resolution (if there was one) in the forums.

Therefore, I'll skip the preliminaries and grab a tech for you.

Re: Error switching to module graphics

I don't know if Viktors contacted you directly, but for the benefit of anyone else with this problem: he says the issue isn't resolved, but it appears to be a video driver problem.

Therefore, I advise you to try upgrading your video drivers to the latest supported version.

If this doesn't work, please email support@worldcommunitygrid.org

Re: Error switching to module graphics

Some oogling popped up a few items, but as Viktors indicated, the drivers update, possibly graphics BIOS may cause the issue to go away.

Given the rarity, I'd venture to think it's the specific hardware/OS/Driver combination. Mail it as per his post above.

cheers

Re: Error switching to module graphics

Why link fails, dont know.

p2/p3 aging and system spec requiring: The ability to display 8-bit graphics at 800x600 resolution

Try installing BOINC on the problem machines and see if the graphics work selecting GC as the sole project. Try the graphics window before screensaver.

Otherwise, all has been said in previous posts in this thread. Simply disable UD screensaver if you want to keep the UD agent..... it's old and cranky (seldom tells what's really wrong).
