smile Favorite Abandonware?

oh yes...any of you guys remember the days of shareware gaming catalogues and the first VGA games?

Some of those were serious quality and I'm going on a binge with that lately -- it's a shame now don't you think? Now that we have better graphics capabilities I'm starting to see a lot of game-types recycled. Everything used to be way more creative!

So -- I was wondering what all your favorites are -- up until the time maybe Quake I was released.

Here are mine!!

-Tyrian
-Supermunchers (this game was pure genious)
-The Incredible Machine
-Oxyd!!!!! (if none of you have played this...you're missing out. There's some free opensource version floating about, but it's not nearly as good as the original version)
-Highway Hunter
- Hugo I through III RPGs

hmmm thinking

If i can go back 22 years, then Centipede for the Atari 1600 computer would be one of my all time favorites. You needed to hook the Atari up to a TV, and it was upgradeable to 48k of RAM! laughing

Underdogs is a goldmine of old and abandoned games. Most games are free, some have links of 'where to buy' http://underdogs.cjb.net/
