Problem getting workunits:
----------------------------------------Mon 23 Apr 2007 12:40:21 PM CDT|World Community Grid|Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 509] All of my computers say this, Intel Mac's, 32-bit Kubuntu, and Windows XP boxes. BOINC 5.8.17 on Linux and OSx, 5.9.3 on Windows I know there is work for HPF2, but I don't seem to get any of it. I verified my profile, but still haven't gotten work. Has anyone else seen this? Where did you get your client from? What version is it?

I got my clients from boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php, the usual place, it is only for the last week-2weeks this has happened.
(I edited the 1st post with version info) |

Use the stable version. I suspect your problems will vanish.

5.8.17 was an experimental version - it should never have been released.
Ideally, you should downgrade to 5.8.16, but right now it's not available from Berkeley. I've asked them to correct that. Alternatively, you could try upgrading libc to 2.4. |

No joy, I got 5.8.16 for Linux, and loaded it, still no new work units, same message.
(you can still find the old clients, back to 4.4.3 for linux if you look hard enough on BOINC's site) |

Hi Gollumer,
----------------------------------------The specific messages you have -Message from server: No work is available for deprecated application -Message from server: (there was work for other platforms) only shows up in 1 other thread on these fora. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=10042#78929 have a read, if anything applies to you. It's odd that all your machines are suffering the same. Just wonder if all are attached to the same device profile (default, work, school or home). on 5.9.x... dont touch it, if you're into production and not alpha testing. Read about some very serious bugs. cheers

I think my profile is corrupt. Since I have 5 computers that all can't get work, and 3 different OS'es, and My changes don't seem to "take" even though it says my profile is updated. (e.g. I make a change, click save, click on my profile again, and the settings are back to to pre-change status)
