w00t w00t... will it be a Friday night double whammy with 100,000,000 work units needing 100,000 CPU Years or Sabato lunchtime? We're almost there... 99,471 at lunchtime! Looks like it will be tonight - woohoo! ![]() |

A rather surprising 'in the midst of summer' 100+ CPU years at the first half of the day.... Kevin's joystick, shorter WU's already coming thru or are things really heating up towards that 100CPU years a day all time average? With or without watermelon slurpy, the team is teaming.

The shorter workunits on BOINC are coming through. The average length of a result on BOINC has dropped from 8.4 hours yesterday to 7.3 hours today. Shorter running workunits usually causes a bit of a spike so that could explain it - we will have to watch over the next few days to see.

After my daily review of the stats I am wondering if it could be some effect of interrupted telecoms recovering after the Japanese earthquake, i.e. many accumulated completed WUs coming back at once. With indirect effect on the many WUs which were waiting for them for validation. Having a look at upload logs in the tech area might give a clue.

a certain top team from the far east area has been breaking their records, but it started before natures intervention.... too many variables, but to say that Tuesday was a classic peak day.... now if Wednesday tops that again, we might get 205,48 CPU years.... hail to the shorter work units
----------------------------------------![]() Added: The customary Project End, Single Project Profiles on UD and those without 'alternate' on BOINC will have gotten a little bump too (GC and HCMD were removed from profiles). Those meeting Minimum requirements will have started to crunch again :o)

are the stats settling down 3 days after the shaking, or is it still volatile in the far east?

Spot 139 in the Chat Room and long overdue for a refresher. The schools and colleges and universities are returning to business again. The daily global stats have been creeping up consecutively for 6 days in a row:
----------------------------------------09/06/2007 191:132:14:13:49 76,204,282 226,893 09/05/2007 191:035:14:31:25 76,391,039 226,108 09/04/2007 189:024:02:17:26 75,404,788 224,282 09/03/2007 183:295:17:10:49 74,240,023 221,276 09/02/2007 165:181:17:18:10 68,848,748 204,546 09/01/2007 161:207:02:48:38 65,991,451 198,066 Soon we'll hit 200 CPU years a day and than the "75,000 CPU days in a day" (205.48 CPU years) should be on it's heels. ![]()
