What would cause me to receive a huge jump in points for only one day? I run on two PC's and generally only get between 400-1500 points a day, but I just noticed that for today it shows 12,000. I just thought it was weird because I don't have any days in the past several months that are even close to that, and I haven't changed anything about my machines.

According to the latest stats it's not 12,000 but 13,669!!!
----------------------------------------And 014:19:39:10 run time for the day... If you use the BOINC agent you might be able to see if a "monster" WU has just come to an end yesterday, or had ended earlier but has been validated yesterday only. Use "My Grid->Results status" and have a look. If you use the UD agent only the WCG team will be able to give you an explanation. Jean. |

Perhaps you haven't returned a result from one of your machines for a while? Rarely, a work unit will take days to complete, and you will get a high score when it is finally returned. I suspect that is what happened here.
This can also happens if a work unit fails. UD awards points even for unsucessful work. Work units are cancelled after running continuously for 2 weeks, so this would tie in with your reported runtime. |
