Publishing project results

I have spent the last hour searching the forum for a topic which may lead me to some published results on any of the projects. Although I believe there is such topic I could not find it because the search results were pretty irrelevant. So considering switching to a bulletin board with more advanced search engine is my first suggestion.

However my bigger consern is are there any results published on any of the projects. I saw that one of the projects has finished first stage before almost an year and still no results are out. Correct me if I am wrong but I though that the results are public ownership. Shouldn't they go ot regularly, even daily, even after any work unit has been uploaded. What if there is a scientist somewhere on the globe who is not part of the main institutions working on the projects but still will benefit from partial results? Although i'm not a conspiracy theoriest you have to agree that since we are dealing with cutting edge scientifical topic very, very few people know exactly what we are doing (said to be doing), so fraud is not so difficult to take place.

Re: Publishing project results

Superfamily Assignments for the Yeast Proteom...on with the Gene Ontology was the first paper to be published by the first project to finish running on WCG.

Just to give you an idea of academic timescales: the paper was first submitted in May 2006, and was only published this month (March 2007). Peer review takes time, while all the facts are checked out carefully.

To address the availability of data, snipping the snipped:

The database is up for yeast and we are working to finish the post-processing for the other 149 genomes (including human). The results will be served via bioNetBuilder (check my lab website in a few weeks) and via a similar web page (again, check the bonneau lab website in a few weeks). Until then we’re beta-testing by releasing our results to the yeast community (who are an active community responsible for great numbers of biomedical discoveries).
