Our team was originally setup by my son and he is not very active right now. He wants to make me the captain, but can't find a way to do this. Is this possible? If so, how do we do this?

Quite doable. You do need to coordinate things though. What he will do is go to the team page and quit the team. As soon as he does that, it will show that the Captain position is vacant and a button will appear on the team page that anyone can click on to become Captain. That's why as soon as he quits, you load the team page and click on the button. Once you are listed as the Captain, then the button will not show and your son can then re-join the team.
