Please abort those work units

Due to a problem with my host ID# 91351, I had to reinstall the OS from scratch. As a result the work unit queue is gone from my machine. The problem is that there were nearly 100 WU in this queue.

Is it possible for the project admins to abort those work units, since I cannot do this from my end? I understand that the WUs will self expire (the latest would be on 17 Feb 7:23 AM), but I'd rather that they be aborted and resubmitted so as not to hold the science back.

In case it is not possible to abort, I would like to appologise to the 200 participants in the quorums whose work validation will be delayed.

Thanks.

Edit: These are all FAAH Wus. Sorry, wrong project subforum.

Re: Please abort those work units

Just wonder, if WCG had the device/host merging facility if one would get these WU's back as they are still queued for that device number?

I did not know until last week that a project reset actually would resend the same WU's if they were not aborted on the device. Maybe, if one is in the position, saving the complete BOINC install would help to stop these unfortunate situations....copy it back after the OS reinstall?

thanks for letting us know meshmesh.

Re: Please abort those work units

There's a mechanism for recovering "lost" results, but not for resending work units.

It makes sense that a project reset would send back the WUs. Unfortunately, with a complete PC lockup, it was a full OS reinstall. There was no chance to backup BOINC, reset the project or abort the WUs first. Sorry.

Furthermore, the host has since been attached to the account under a new device name and with a different version of the OS for good measure. So I doubt that even the device merge facility, if present in wcg, would work in this case.

I hope it is not too much work for the project admins.
