What does this really mean.

All these WU's? In perspective (there are 19 of the following HPF2 WU's floating about) for BOINC :
la283_ 00055-- In Progress 02/16/2007 05:28 02/26/2007 05:28 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
la283_ 00055-- In Progress 02/16/2007 05:27 02/26/2007 05:27 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
la283_ 00055-- Valid 02/16/2007 05:26 02/16/2007 14:35 4.65 54.8 /39.0
....16-more....
**As of this posting one is considered "Valid" all the remaining are "In Progress" however, viewing other different, WU lists one can find several lists that contain "Error" or even "No Return" Status. My question is: What does this mean to a particular list of WU's ?
**Do all the same named WU's, as they are returned or not to the server, have to wait until the entire list (100%) is "completed as valid" before the singular "Workunit Name/task" is stored in the DB and sent (in view of different Status) to the scientist?
**In other words, when all the distributed, same-named-tasks return "Valid", then that single WU is completed and good for send to Scientist. What is the relationship of WU's to a WU-Listing to a result to a single gene ?
Re: A gene a day?
Greetings, It is hard to give you an exact number but it is about 1-2 genes per day are being finished. This is because multiple structures are being calculated in each of the results being shown. -Uplinger Feb 6
Please do not discuss the points issue. I am easily confused, sorry, but your answer will help clear me/us up.
Thanks.

Along with other URL's in the same series it answers many questions. I'm going to do some copy and paste to consolidate the info since it's spread around nearly random. I'll then make a post with the info along with an article I'm writing about DNA. This should answer many questions in one place . . . . . I hope. Thank you for the good reply. PaulT. smile
