Grrrr.....one major issue with those tiny HCC units, everyone wants to finish first. Got over 40 part-run just on this machine alone. Looks like a half days effort has only achieved a couple of complete workunits on it. Sound like you have the "Switch between applications every: xxxx minutes" set too high. I had this when set to suggested 7200. Having tuned this to a lower 4200 with cache around 1.5 days, betas and re-sends get started and run at high priority without sending the scheduler haywire. This value can be changed in-flight and it takes effect immediately. Paul. It also differs by BOINC version, certain (older?) ones were prone to this panic. I have some 5.10.58 and some 6.10.45, will upgrade when I have time. Paul.

He is actually a she.......helped her install the software on Friday (I said I'd get some more onboard  )Suspect she is only running the PC during the working day so not huge numbers but 4 people running 9-5 Mon-Fri is as good as one 24/7 so I just need to get three more...... Must say the new setup for encouraging signups is pretty good. Far more attractive and informative than the old 'send them a link' system. |
