Monster work units? Does anyone remember 30 day time limits?
----------------------------------------The delay in stats when jobs get longer is partly due to "queue shaping" by members who want to inflate the number of work units completed. I recommend that stats not be sorted by work units. Another contributing factor is long queues due to members' connection frequency preferences. All projects have a reduced amount of work reported on weekends and holidays possibly because no one is at the computers to manually update (and upload). ![]() |

What I've missed a day or 2 Sek that can't be right
---------------------------------------- Maybe it was those earlier MonstersVester I don't understand why anyone would spare the time to queue shape to boost the WU count - each to their own I guess. The only stat that bears scrutiny is the run time which is why I'm just happy to see those 150+ years on a good day. Lets see how many more we can get through today Take care all dave ![]() |

To take one item away from the equation of speculation (;-), the HCMD drop was managed from the server room and intentional whilst results were checked for validity. Declared in full health it's back up to it's former distribution speed.

Aloha, Sekerob!
Okay, I just finished one of the FAAH units, taking approx. 24hrs30mins. I can only guess how many thousands of others, on UD, as well as Boinc, got FAAH work units. So, I'll say today, or tomorrow, will be a monster day. I'm having lunch with Godzilla Tuesday, and Rodan promised to make an appearance as well... ![]() |

Hi SetteCure,
----------------------------------------An oversimplified math is this one: P4 2.53 Ghz - 1.5gb ram takes sometimes on the real long 8 hours on the wallclock for a FA@H. If running on a P3-800mhz and 256mb ram, the probabilities are it will run 24 hours and longer also because the Ram to VM swapping will take extra time away. Not knowing your PC specs, it's a Q for me, the A for U :>) How P3 and P4 compare hertz for hertz dont know but my C2D performs per mhz drastically faster than the P4, though slower in mhz...... enjoy today, for some are working hard at there not being a livable tomorrow. (It's very sunny Dave and 16C... going up the gorgeous snow-white 3km mountain-peak for a peek, before it melts like......).

Aloha Diana G. & Sekerob
How was the mountain? I have a AMD Duron (1.6GHz) w/256RAM, 6GB reserved on the hard drive. Although benchmarks don't mean that much, mine bench's at 116 to WCG's 100. So, a little weak on the ram, but otherwise, a little better than your average home pc. FAAH units on my machine are definitely out of the ordinary, especially compared to any other project. hold on, I have a brunch date with Smaug on Wednesday... ![]() |
