I'm not saying that this is as a result of any work we have carried out here but the ISB did receive the first projects output - the HPF Project. It's an example of where the kind of number crunching research carried out on the grid may find it's application.

----------------------------------------You know I never visit those forums as much of the science is above me being a telecoms engineer and I don't have first hand experience in any of the afflictions described there (I don't like the word disease) + I don't want to be party to some of the shall we say uninformed discussions surrounding the projects. I'm happier down here in the bottom of the forum starting with the UD advice forum. I know my limitations. Dave ![]() |

The Institute of Systems Biology was behind the Human Proteome Folding Project as you can see from the link the Insitute in this case is involved in Cancer Research. We always expected the output from that first project to find application in Cancer Research and across the board of Human conditions it's just that it wasn't as specific a project as HDC or FAAH or HDMD much like HPF2 and the Genome Comparison Project are today - these 2 current projects are not less as a result as they will provide useful insight on which greater minds than my own will build upon compared with the much more black and white outcomes of the specific projects which are easier to describe and tend to get the best press.
