Error message between tasks means that the new task does not start

I am running the UD agent on 7 different systems and have a problem with the fastest 2 systems. Sometimes when one task has completed I get a message from the Grid server that says:

Something in your machine is making the grid program repeatedly crash and contact the server every few minutes, this not doing any useful work. etc...

If I view the message and then click OK the system starts the next task and continues with no further errors. As I say I have only seen this on the 2 fastest systems. Do others see this? Is there a solution to stop the problem?

Re: Error message between tasks means that the new task does not start

Hello GB010528,
The 'Useful Utilities' thread at http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=2490 has some diagnostic programs to help you discover what is wrong with your computers.
Also, if you switch your problem computers to BOINC ( http://www.wcgwiki.org/en/boinc/migration.cfm ) you will have a message log reporting errors and you can see a list of invalid results at My Grid - Device Manager - Results Status.

Re: Error message between tasks means that the new task does not start

One day I'll finish the error reporting form and put a link in my signature like the one for Maintenance. That will put it on the forum 2827 times as of this writing. It's like becoming a POW.... always give name, rank and serial number Device number (on pref page of UD Agent, right hand bottom), approximate time of event calculated back to UTC time and the project worked on. That allows the technicians to look up the data on the server side, where logs do exist for the UD Agent.

OCing comes to mind when reading 'my fastest' systems. If running thru WUs every few minutes it's called 'cycling' and will alert the servers to send u that message.

Till than, follow Lawrence by the hand for full recovery to crunching land hugs

It's 19:30 UTC and all is well with the 50% of the servers I'm connected to (a BOINC thing ;>)
