The Internet Explorer Add-On Extension Thread

Fair is Fair, we already have a The FireFox Add-On Extension Thread where anyone can *Add* a 'Must Have' extension, not yet listed. So, unbiased as we are - and yes, the Opera fans can start their thread too with goodies - here's an attempt at starting one for Internet Explorer from the guys near Seattle.

First go, a nice one called IE7Pro which is as per Publisher's Description:
IE7pro is an add-on for Internet Explorer 7 which adds lots of features and extras that make your IE easier, more useful, more secure and more customizable.

I like it mostly because it permits the set up of url aliases. E.g. set up one called WCGF (it's not case sensitive) and link that to the address https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/listrecentthreads , which is the Recent Threads page on the WCG forum. No searching for favorites or bookmarks, just type wcgf in the address bar and enter.... I use it all the time in Firefox (lol).

cheers

Re: The Internet Explorer Add-On Extension Thread

Gosh, I killed another topic.

After updating a customer's computer the other day, I pressed Ctrl and used the scroll wheel at the same time to change font size. The customer was amazed. He should have been. When I started, he didn't have Service Pack 1 or 2 on his Windows XP Professional installation. smile

Re: The Internet Explorer Add-On Extension Thread

Yes u are to be blamed for it Vester..... don't post the list **, make a 'user story' of one particular u like and has proven itself to u.

To pass one that has been valuable to me liking shortcuts, aliases and other lazy bones features, one that came from the Firefox kitchen and also now for IE7 is "Mouse Gestures ". Hold button and move mouse left makes the history go one page back, right, goes up, Circle to refresh and many you can design yourself. Activating mouse trail, it shows the path on the screen.

** The MS list has little appeal to me for it includes many 'put down your money' extensions. When i tried to find MG again at the MS site i got:
We are sorry, but the page you are trying to reach does not exist.

Re: The Internet Explorer Add-On Extension Thread

Thank you, Gollumer. I believe safe browsing is relevant to discussion of add-ons. The computers that I repair seem to be more laden with spyware and viruses in direct proportion to the number of useless toolbars tacked onto the browser.
