I'm new to all this and my partner gave me the like to help with fight AIDS at home as it is a subject that is close to me. I think i did everything right and i just checked the box to FAAH but it started with G_C Have I done things right to FAAH or do I need to change something? Many Thanks, Jay X

Hi James,
I'm new to this as well. I have chosen to participate in more than one project. That option is in the "My Grid" area. When there is no work available on one project, I receive work for the next project on my list. At least I think that's how it works. I don't know if you have chosen more than one project (you say that you just checked the box to FAAH), but if you have, it may be that there was no work available at the time. That's just a thought. I'm sure one of the more experienced people will be able to shed more light. Good Luck! Dave |

Hi James Clabby and welcome to WCG, glad to have you aboard.
---------------------------------------- I think a work unit was assigned to you when you downloaded your WCG agent automatically to get you started. Then you are able to go into My Grid and then into My Projects and check the ones you would like to participate in. Then once you hit save your preferences will take effect the next time your grid agent communicates with the servers (when the current work unit is finished processing) It is okay to work on Genome Comparision and then you will get faah when your agent sends the results from the GC work unit.
