Yeah, we're working on having something more flashy this time... we'll just have to see if there's enough manpower available to get it finished.

75,000 Years ago
----------------------------------------back then people were making jewelry and creating the first art works having a mini ice age and they also experienced the biggest bang we've had on earth since that time maybe even in the last 2 million years here are a few links http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Toba#The_eruption http://www.vnn.org/world/WD0405/WD04-8612.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/nature/sites/naturalhistoryofwales/pages/2_mya.shtml http://www.sciencenews.org/pages/sn_arch/9_28_96/fob1.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_New_York_City_%28prehistory-1664%29 Dave ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by David Autumns at Feb 5, 2007 9:54:33 PM] |

Wow!
Hello David! Did you here the story about the incident where a geneticist was attending a geologic seminar, just to increase his general knowledge, when the subject of Lake Toba arose. He was flabbergasted, for he and his colleagues had been working upon a problem in genetics that was confounding them. It had to do with an apparent bottleneck, or narrowing, of the genetic pool worldwide, and the timeline was a match for the Lake Toba event!. So, if this in fact did occur simultaneously, we are even much more closely related to eachother, and in soooo short a time span as to boggle the mind. Which also, unfortunately, may make it that much easier for nature to kill us. Not enough variety in the strain, I faer. But, I still believe that a higher power had more in store for us... ![]() |

The road we took to get here is posted up top of this thread..... the milestones and the projects that contributions were made to are below, realising that 4 of these, FA@H, GC, HDC & HCMD will reach their completion in the near future for their respective rounds. HPF was done in July 2006 with the final paper now imminent, a foundation to the current HPF2 project which will run for a longer time. Give us a hand and spread the word :
