Hello,
I would like to know if there are any plans to create a Grid Client for AS/400 or iSeries system ? Thanks, |

Currently the only definite decision is to create a Linux X86 client next in 2005. All the talk is for MAC OS X after that, but nothing is ever definite until the programmers begin coding. [Grin] So by all means nominate your favored systems to start people thinking about them.

I'm changing computing platforms sometime in January, from this electricity hungry 300w intel '686 beast to a brand new electricity-modest 170w Mac G5 running OS X. The old intel box will be kept around as a backup, at least for a while. I understand from a slashdot article that there is a Linux ( http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/ ) that will run inside of OS X, along with virtual copies of MS Windows, so it is possible that if I'm motivated and have the time to set it up, the Rosetta client may well be able to run on the new machine. It'd definitely be better to run the client as an OS X native application, though, as my system RAM will not be infinite (1gb). |

Hi pt035550,
Hmmmmm .. should be fun to try... I series with some linux partitions... ![]() ![]() IBM Rochester would certainly have the benefit of this if they can spare a few Lpar machines on the WCG... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

We have a list of other processors/systems to potentailly support. This work must be priorized agains the whole list we have. So, we cannot predict at this time if and when all of the potential additional systems will be supported.
