tongue my little BOINC Farm

Hello my name is EselMetaller and this is my BOINC Farm

our basement

Fujitsu Siemens Sceneo 600 cases - tower
mixed inner life, mostly Intel Pentium II/III and AMD Duron, few Athlons, some Sempron

one of the two "outdoor" machines with a function beside BOINC - my leecher machine, AMD Duron 1.200 with 120 GB

at the bottom: IBM Netfinity 7000 M10 Quad Xeon 550 (FTP and Web server)

the second hardware accumulation with function: Duron 850 with 1,0 TB Raid5 net volume for the familiary home network

without words

cable spaghetti

2x 24 port IBM switches with 10/100 MBit/s

12 Port 3Com switch 10/100 MBit/s

That was up to date till 4 month ago, actually I'm updating and upgrading my machines to reduce the power consumption and the number of active machines because the room in the basement is not very big and some machines often overheats at hot summerdays.
There will be some AMD dualcore maschines in the future ;)

Maybe something about me? I'm a 24 years old German student and I try to give my best to support such helpful projects like Predictor@home, SIMAP, FightAIDS and Climateprediction.net.
With my team, the "meisterkuehler.de", we are crunching together for WCG.

OK, first that was all I'd like to say.
See you - and greetings from Germany :-)

Hello esetmetaller,

Wow, you've got lots of processing power there, :).

Do you have a fire extinguisher around? There's the risk of a fire starting in your basement.

Could you send some of your crunchers to me? Hahaha!

Keep crunching!

Re: my little BOINC Farm

eselmetaller,
That looks to be quite the nice setup you have engineered. It is always interesting to see what others have put together. I am impressed. How is your electric bill?

Cheers
