Re: I've had cancer... nice to do something for others...

There's a solution for your RAM limitation! 1025 MB is required only by the UD Agent. If you rund BOINC for Windows you may be able to execute HDC with only about 730 MB, so your 1 GB will be enough.

For more informations on BOINC Agent, look in the other threads.

Hugs and I hpe you do well! :)

Re: I've had cancer... nice to do something for others...

I have been living with colon cancer (stage III) for 3 years. I have tasked one of my computers to work 24/7 with WCG.
Cancer is a insedious diease and I pray for all of us who have it.

LPs_tower, I'll pray especially for you too.

Re: I've had cancer... nice to do something for others...

Thank you, Currie. smile

According to HIT24's post, all I have to do is eat certain things, not live in the modern world (use nothing artificial) and think good thoughts, and my metastatic breast cancer will go away. liar
I dare him/her to post that in an active cancer forum. wink

Btw, nice to meet some other cancer "survivors" here.

smile Welcome aboard and congratulations on your victory! biggrin Like Neil Armstrong said "One Small Step for Man, One Giant Leap for Mankind". I crunch on 3 computers and 1 just died-physical harddrive error, so only on 2 right now but not all the time. Even though that's small, every bit helps. Aloha from Hawaii!

Re: I've had cancer... nice to do something for others...

I just found out I can't run Cancer on Agent on my towers now. I have 1024 ram and it now requires 1025. crying

I did switch them over to Boinc and the Cancer project, although I prefer Agent.

I wonder if increasing your virtual memory would help. Anyone know?

Here is a web page that contains info on how to increase the virtual memory.

http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/PapaJohn/80/Basic_Computer_Skills.aspx

I would only increase it 100mbs at a time. But that's just me.
