Strange thing happened!

Hello,

when i woke up this morning and looked at my cpu score it dropped from 200 to 120 while the system was idle at night. I still can't figure out how this happened. Another strange thing was that the rosetta process could only claim about 25% of cpu power. I had to restart the client to fix this issue. But i cost me lots of points crying (Was a WU of 24hours cpu time or so)

Anyone had this before?

Re: Strange thing happened!

Hi Pconfig. Did you have any automatic schedule task running?
You know like defrag, or Norton scan......

Too bad for theWU but at 200% you will forget about it within a year wink

cool alien 2 Stranger things have happened!

Hi Pconfig
The same thing happens to me also.
Workstations and "Cruncher Drones" too.
Maybe the Internet connection speed is a factor also.
"Always" for me the Benchmark goes back to "normal" with
the next Work Unit.
(I suspect Gremlins!) alien 2

Pconfig --

Did you happen look at the Task Manager to see if another process was eating up the CPU cycles when the Rosetta was at 25%? I can only guess, but it sounds like some other task had to have been hitting close to 75% to have knocked the Rosetta process down so low.

Re: Strange thing happened!

OK, maybe the lower cpu score was something taks that wanted some cpu power. (Nothing scheduled tough)

And no, cpu was only in use for 25% it also used only 4mb of ram or so confused

That certainly is really strange. I hope someone else has some other ideas on this or maybe somehow some additional documentation on the problem.

Re: Strange thing happened!

I had a similar problem. I can't remember the exact numbers, but my cpu time was 50 hours and 30% complete when I shut down. When restarted the cpu time was 40 hours 25% complete. Your right, it sounds like gremlins!
